Undefiled Bride Part 3

SCROLL

“For the husband is head of the wife, as also Christ is head of the church; and He is the Savior of the body” (Ephesians 5:23).

Leaning on to her lover amidst all the distractions, Bride of Christ awaits the day of the wedding feast of the Lamb. Apostle Paul describes the beauty of the perfect Bride, comparing her to the Holy City of Jerusalem. The Bride- fair as Moon, clear as Sun, yet majestic, prepares for an eternal life with her Perfect Lover.

Sinners, with no right to claim purity, Jesus took away all our sins and draped us with fine linen, bright and pure through His crucifixion and resurrection. Being part of the Church, we must reciprocate the love Christ has shown toward us to become His undefiled Bride. Unto those who surrender to the divine call, the Holy Spirit uses God’s Word to cleanse and sanctify our  minds. The Bride is called to decorate herself to match the glory of Christ, purging away all worldly desires.

To be in the ‘light’ of Jesus, departing from the ‘darkness’ of evil (John 8:12), we ought to lead a secluded lifestyle, consecrating ourselves to be the bearers of God’s glory, forsaking the desires of the flesh and the filthiness that it carries. The call may sound to seem impossible, as it was with Abraham- to be the father of a nation when he did not possess even a single babe through his seed. Nevertheless, our response to God’s mighty and marvelous call is to be reciprocated with the willingness to walk through the aisles of self denial. To Abraham it was to leave  behind his family and friends and to journey to a land unknown. To Moses it was to leave behind the luxuries of the palace to embrace the harshness of the wilderness along with God’s people. Let Jesus Himself, the author of our faith, be our model and motivation to run a secluded life, who was willing to step out of the glory of Heaven to step into the shame of the Cross to fulfill the will of the Father in Heaven..

Are we willing to lead a life dedicated to bear the Glory of  God???

“For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ”, (1 Corinthians 12:20)

Apostle Paul reminds us that we are one body with many members and so is with Christ. When we place our faith in Christ for the redemption of our souls, we are baptized in one Spirit, who weaves us together into one body irrespective of our social backgrounds. (1 Corinthians 12:13).

Just as organs within a body, defined for specific and exclusive functions, we as members of One Body in Christ ought to conduct the duties ordained to us for the perfect and smooth functioning of the Church.. As the ligaments are to tendons so are we liable to mutually support our brethren for the body of Christ to function seamlessly. We therefore are entitled to support anyone who struggles.

“Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much more as you see the Day is approaching” (Hebrews 10:25)

Fellowship with our brethren is the integral essence of Christian living, encouraging one another in staying connected to our divine purposes. The source of life comes from the head (Christ Jesus) to which the body is being connected by the Pastors, Apostles and Teachers.. One who isolates himself from the Body of Christ, stays away from Christ Himself.

It is by faith in Jesus as Savior, we have been awarded the right to be called ‘children of God’ (John 1:12) .There exists only one way to be saved –“believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and you will be saved’. “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in threat: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves”, Matthew 7:13-15

Jesus states the existence of two gates at every crossroad of our lives: two gates leading to two different destinations, certainly only one will lead us to our Abba in Heaven. Only one promise to lead us to God and heaven and the other to hell and destruction. Sailing through the pleasures of sin may seem easy, its waves leading you to the gateways of hell. Rowing upstream through the rivers whose currents run downstream is tedious, so is the life of faith.

Which way are we heading to?

Let’s submit ourselves into the mighty hands and retrospect the choices we make in life.

To Thee alone

My whole belongs

O’ Jesus Son of God

You paid the price

To own my heart

Precious and priceless blood

How can then now

This heart belong

To any other treasure

Than the Jewel of Heaven

Surrender I now

Me and mine

Own me deeper deeper Lord

The bride that You longed

May You find that in me

Bright as the ‘Son’

Your beautiful moon

Shining Your Light

To a world lost in sorrow

May I add to Your joy

Souls marching home

Surrender I now

Me and mine

Reign through me Lord

Let Your Kingdom come

Praise be to God!!!
