HOW WE GROW

  • WITH STEPPING STONES

Families that grow together, always stay together, and fellowship is the key to this bonding. Our bonding starts with outstretched arms, by getting involved, and by loving one another. In other words, with a whole heart we worship, we serve, and we share the Gospels.

Lost and Found

  • THE FIRST STONE

Getting ‘lost’ usually happens naturally. But being ‘found’ happens supernaturally. If you reach a stage of realisation of wanting to follow Jesus, it is not because you have found God… but it is because God has been relentlessly pursuing you while you were lost, and out of His love for you, He found you. Once found, it’s celebration!

Amazing Grace is one of Christianity’s most sought after hymns. One particular line from the hymn, ‘I once was lost, but now I’m found’ resonates a lot with our readings and daily lives today. Ever since the time of Adam and Eve, where they lost their way in the garden, till date where we come across souls who were once lost, but find their way and purpose for life, simply reflects God’s relentless pursuit of His children.

Prayers and Scriptures

  • THE GROOMING

Starting afresh is usually with prayers and scriptures. That is the key. Initially, there could be struggles just to pray diligently. However, the struggle to pray is a healthy thing because gradually you will realise the significance of prayers and scriptures that the world and the flesh come against during times of need. Diligent prayers and scripture reading is what will see you through your struggles every step of the way. To start with, the simple prayer of Psalm 19:14 would help – to keep asking God, ‘Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight’.

This concept of growing in Christ is so important that it should be one of the fundamental beliefs of any Christian, and four essential building blocks to help you with that are:

Baptism

  • CELEBRATION OF LIFE

This celebration is all about being born again. You lived once, you died in your old self, and you chose to rise and live again through faith in Jesus Christ. You chose to move on from death to life. This first step of obedience will be your expression of faith in Jesus publicly.

Further, as you mature in your spiritual life, you will yearn to practice discipleship.

Discipleship

  • THEORY AND GETTING ON WITH IT

Understanding discipleship may get intimidating initially. But with perseverance, and His grace, Discipleship is doable. The journey can get rocky, but you can get to the top. In order to be equipped completely with armour, to be courageous to live a thoroughbred Christian life, you will have to become trained theologically, and mature spiritually and practically. Our sermons, lectures, and training would help you achieve just that.
